Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (PT) is provided by a licensed Physical Therapist for clients who need treatment to alleviate physical deficits. The Physical Therapist  works with clients experiencing orthopedic problems, such as chronic back pain, neck injuries, etc. With a Traumatic Brain Injury, the Physical Therapist's job is to minimize and/or overcome any physical effects related to the brain injury. Physical Therapists are experts in the examination and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problems that affect one's ability to move and function in daily life.

Physical Therapists will assess and work to improve:
  • Balance
  • Posture
  • Strength
  • Need for a wheelchair, brace, or cane
  • Quality of movement
  • Spontaneous movement
  • Coordination of movement
  • Increased sensation of sensory-motor activities
  • Pain management
